In our democracy and governance work, we draw heavily on our capacity development and monitoring expertise to help individual agencies and governing bodies better engage stakeholders and ensure accountability. Additionally, we work to develop skills and capabilities for creating, managing, and evolving partnerships, alliances, and networks that are mutually beneficial.

Within Malawi, Salephera completed the “Midterm Review of the Office of the Ombudsman Programme.” This led to recommendations for the improvement of institutional performance and capacity development.

 

Our recent work has involved completing two projects for the US Treasury Department through a sub-contract arrangement with Metrica Inc. of Washington, USA. This work included the final project evaluations of the “Strengthening the Integrity of the Malawi Government” and the final evaluation of the “Strengthening Malawi National Assembly Project” both under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

 

Our work in Africa includes developing a strategy and conducting a capacity assessment of the National Aids Commission of Burundi.  In 2008 and 2009 we conducted an Institutional Assessment of the SADC Parliamentary Forum through an extensive consultative process of senior leaders in 7 Southern African countries.
